Personal Information We Collect
The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us and may include:
- Your full name.
- Your company or business name.
- Your email address and telephone number.
- Your location or area.
- The products or services in which you are interested.
- Information about your store, business, site or security requirements.
- Your preferred asset finance term and estimated project value.
- The contents of your message or enquiry.
- Quotation, proposal, installation, support or transaction-related information if your enquiry develops into a business relationship.
- Records of subsequent email, telephone, WhatsApp or other business correspondence.
- Limited technical information processed through normal website-hosting and security infrastructure.
Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive or confidential personal information in an open enquiry message.
Information Submitted Through the Enquiry Form
The website enquiry form requires your full name, email address, phone number, the product or service required, and a message or additional details.
You may also provide your company name, location or area, preferred finance term and estimated project value. These optional fields help us understand your requirements but are not required for a general enquiry.
Enquiries are transmitted to SLP Technologies by email. The website does not store a separate copy of the submitted enquiry in the WordPress database. The enquiry may nevertheless remain in our business email systems, ordinary email-server records, legitimate backups, subsequent correspondence, and relevant business records if the enquiry develops further.
The form uses normal validation, security and spam-prevention measures and does not currently use a third-party form-processing platform.
Required and Optional Information
Fields marked as required are needed for us to understand, review and respond to your enquiry. If you do not provide the required information, we may not be able to respond effectively or provide the requested information.
Providing personal information through the website is voluntary. However, some information may be necessary if you want us to prepare a quotation, arrange an installation, provide support, process an order or refer you to a finance provider.
How and Why We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information where reasonably necessary to:
- Receive, review and respond to enquiries.
- Contact prospective or existing customers and understand their requirements.
- Provide requested product or service information.
- Prepare quotations, proposals or recommendations.
- Arrange site assessments, deliveries, installations, maintenance or support.
- Manage legitimate prospective and existing customer relationships.
- Administer orders, warranties, repairs, support matters or disputes.
- Maintain appropriate contractual, accounting, tax and business records.
- Protect the security and proper operation of the website and our systems.
- Prevent or investigate misuse, fraud, spam or security incidents.
- Comply with legal, regulatory or record-keeping obligations and protect lawful rights.
Depending on the circumstances, processing may be based on your consent, steps requested before entering into a contract, performance of a contract, our legitimate business interests, legal obligations or another ground permitted by applicable law.
Asset Finance Enquiries and Referrals
SLP Technologies does not provide finance in-house and is not the finance provider.
If you request asset finance, you authorise SLP Technologies to provide the contact, enquiry and quotation-related information reasonably necessary for an approved third-party finance provider to contact you regarding possible financing arrangements.
We aim to share only information reasonably necessary for the finance referral or application process. The third-party finance provider handles its own application process, affordability or credit assessment, approval or rejection, finance terms, identity and credit checks, finance agreement, privacy obligations and legal requirements.
Requesting finance does not guarantee that finance will be offered or approved. SLP Technologies does not perform credit scoring or make automated credit decisions through this website. You should review the finance provider’s privacy notice and terms before submitting an application or entering into an agreement.
When Personal Information May Be Shared
SLP Technologies does not sell personal information.
We may share personal information where reasonably necessary with:
- SLP Technologies personnel, representatives or contractors who need it for legitimate business purposes.
- Website-hosting, email, information-technology, backup or security providers where applicable.
- Installation, delivery, technical support or operational providers where applicable.
- Professional advisers where appropriate.
- Approved third-party finance providers when asset finance is requested.
- Government departments, regulators, courts or law-enforcement authorities where disclosure is legally required or permitted.
- Other parties where lawfully necessary to protect rights, address a dispute or manage legitimate business obligations.
Some third parties, including finance providers and communication platforms, may process information independently under their own privacy notices and legal obligations.
Website Hosting and Technical Information
The website is hosted through Afrihost.
Normal website-hosting, security and server infrastructure may process limited technical information such as your IP address, browser or device information, requested pages or URLs, timestamps, and server, error or security logs. Where applicable, this information may be processed for website delivery, security, diagnostics, abuse prevention, operational administration and troubleshooting.
The website’s enquiry-form handler does not add your IP address or browser user-agent information to the enquiry email and does not store those details with a form submission in the WordPress database. This does not exclude normal technical processing by hosting, network, email or security infrastructure.
Cookies, Browser Storage and Analytics
The website does not currently use identified non-essential analytics, advertising or behavioural tracking technologies for ordinary visitors.
WordPress may use limited essential or functional browser storage required for normal technical functionality. Authorised WordPress administration and login functionality may use essential authentication, security or preference cookies. These are not ordinary customer account features, and the website does not currently provide public customer accounts or login functionality.
If analytics, advertising, embedded third-party services or other non-essential tracking technologies are introduced in future, SLP Technologies will review and update its privacy and cookie practices and consent arrangements where appropriate.
Third-Party Websites and Communication Platforms
The website contains ordinary outbound or contact links to services such as WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn, email applications and telephone services. These are not currently embedded tracking widgets that load automatically for ordinary visitors.
If you follow a third-party link or use an external platform to contact us, that provider may process information under its own privacy policy, terms and technical practices. We do not control the privacy practices of independent third-party services.
Information Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, unlawful disclosure, alteration or destruction.
No website, internet transmission, email system or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We cannot promise absolute security, but we aim to manage personal information responsibly and respond appropriately to identified security risks or incidents.
How Long We Retain Personal Information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for responding to and following up on enquiries; quotations or proposals; prospective or existing customer relationships; installations, support and warranties; finance referrals; contractual, accounting, tax and business requirements; complaints or disputes; legal obligations; and other lawful operational purposes.
When personal information is no longer reasonably required, it may be deleted, destroyed, de-identified or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable requirements. Deletion from active systems may not result in immediate removal from every legitimate backup. Backup information should remain protected and should not be restored or used for unrelated purposes.
Cross-Border Processing
Some hosting, email, communications, cloud or third-party service infrastructure may process or store information outside South Africa.
Where personal information is processed across borders, SLP Technologies seeks to handle that processing consistently with applicable South African legal requirements. Independent third-party platforms may also be governed by their own privacy practices and legal obligations.
Your Privacy Rights
Subject to POPIA, other applicable law and any lawful limitations or exceptions, you may have the right to:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it.
- Ask us to correct or update inaccurate, incomplete, misleading or outdated information.
- Request deletion or destruction where legally applicable.
- Object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Object to or opt out of direct marketing where applicable.
- Lodge a complaint about the processing of your personal information.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some information may need to be retained despite a request where required or permitted by law, including for contractual, accounting, tax, dispute-resolution or legal purposes.
How to Make a Privacy Request
To request access, correction, deletion or another privacy-related action, email neil@slptech.co.za.
Please provide enough information for us to identify the relevant records and understand your request. Do not send unnecessary identity documents or sensitive information unless requested through an appropriate process.
Complaints and the Information Regulator
If you have a concern about how your personal information has been processed, please contact SLP Technologies first so that we can review and respond to the issue.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa). The Regulator’s official website provides its current complaint procedure and eServices portal.

Children’s Personal Information
This website provides commercial security and technology information and is intended primarily for businesses and adult decision-makers. It is not intentionally directed at children.
If you believe a child has submitted personal information without appropriate authorisation, please contact us so that the circumstances can be reviewed.
Automated Decision-Making
The website does not make automated decisions about visitors based on submitted enquiries. Website enquiries are reviewed and responded to by people acting for SLP Technologies.
If you request asset finance, a third-party finance provider may conduct its own credit, affordability or eligibility assessment. Any assessment or decision is controlled by that provider and is subject to its own processes, legal obligations and privacy practices.
Direct Marketing
Submitting a website enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to an unrelated marketing list. We may respond to your enquiry and reasonably follow up about the product, service, quotation or related matter you requested.
Any separate direct marketing must be handled in accordance with applicable law and relevant objection or opt-out rights. You may ask us to stop direct marketing communications by contacting neil@slptech.co.za.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, website technologies, legal obligations or information-processing practices change. The latest version will be published on this website with an updated date.
